I am attempting to locate sources, online or otherwise, that will give me information on the response rate of schizophrenics to antipsychotic medications by subtype. paranoid vs. catatonic, etc.,
does anyone have any ideas?

I think your best bet is to simply do a Pubmed or Medline search on the issue. However, the literature generally shows a consensus that the paranoid subtype is the most common and the most amiable to treatment with currently available antipsychotics. Antipsychotics are generally alot better at controling the positive symtoms (delusions, hallucinations, thought disorganization) rather than the negative symtoms (blunted affect, social withdrawl, cataonic like behaviors).

As an aside, the subtypes have little clinical utility or validity. DSM-V is probably going to get rid of them.
