Salary a Pharmacist VS a nurse

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
A pharmacist is a professional. A nurse is more of an employee. You shouldn't go into either profession for money. A pharmacist and nurse on equal footing- a pharmact will almost always make more.

Not exactly.

A pharmacist is a professional. And typically also an employee.
A nurse is an employee, true, but he or she is also a professional.

And yes, if we are comparing a basic RPh and a basic RN, the RPh will make more.

I tend to agree with TheToothsayer.

Pharmacists usually work under their own professional judgement. If working directly with techs, pharmacists are, nominally at least, in charge.

Nurses have much more limited autonomy in their scope of practice. They are almost always under direct supervision of somebody else. (Disclaimer, I am not a nurse or "pre-nurse.")

This is divorced from any allegations of "professionalism," which is not the same as "being a professional" or "being a professional degree holder."

They are both employees anyway you look at it.

Nurses also have the option of continuing education to become a crna or arnp. and a crna will almost always make more money than a pharmacist.
