The Rutgers New Jersey Medical School’s Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a candidate to add to our four-year Emergency Medicine training program in Newark, New Jersey at the second-year level. Residents spend majority of their training at University Hospital, a level 1 trauma center that has approximately 95,000 annual Emergency Department visits. Applicants Must (by July 2017):
- Have successfully completed, in good standing, at least one year in an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine residency program, at least two years in an AOA-accredited EM residency program, or at least two years in an ACGME-accredited other specialty
- Have approval of the current program director
- Additionally, all applicants must:
- Be able to legally work in the US without visa sponsorship by Rutgers NJMS
- Must be within 3 years of graduation from medical school
- Must have been involved in direct patient care since graduation from medical school (does not include observerships)
- Candidates should submit the following materials electronically:
- Updated CV
- At least two letters of recommendations from EM faculty with clinical exposure to the candidate within the past three years
- One letter from current Program Director and any previous Program Directors
- USMLE Scores - Step 1, Step 2 CK & CS (and Step 3 if completed)
- Medical school transcript, Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE/Dean’s Letter), and diploma
- A list of rotations completed during residency training
- Emergency Medicine experience including rotation evaluations or ABEM In-Training Examination scores
