ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Dr. Gail S. Kerr, Chief of Rheumatology at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and professor at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., is looking for clinical research fellow to begin in July of 2013. The job includes managing multiple on-going clinical research studies relating to the care and treatment of patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal diseases, grant proposals, IRB submissions, and preparing powerpoint presentations and/or poster presentations.

You will have the opportunity to design your own research study and have great hands-on experience shadowing the attending doctors while participating in weekly seminars for the residents and fellows. This position is ideal for current PGY3's that would like to pursue a Rheumatology fellowship.

Eligible candidate must have completed at least 1 year of residency in the united states.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

1. MD/DO
2. Demonstrated interest in medical and/or biological research
3. Good Computer skills with Microsoft office, excel, powerpoint

PREFERRED SKILLS

1. Very strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, discipline, quality of work, and teamwork skills

2. Prior experience with biostatistics, econometrics, and prior research experience is desirable, but not required
