Retention in Equine Veterinarians Longitudinal (REVL) Study

Do aspects of your identity impact inclusion, equity, or belonging in veterinary school or equine practice?

We are recruiting for 1-hour virtual focus group discussions related to equine practice, burnout, and work satisfaction. We are prioritizing the perspectives of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQ+ identities, and members with disabilities. The results will be used to develop a longitudinal study to track these factors and inform the industry of potential changes to improve and maintain the equine workforce. To be eligible you must fall into one of the following categories:

  • Previously in equine practice but have left practice,
  • Currently in equine practice or mixed animal practice and spend at least 50% of your time on equine,
  • Currently a veterinary student interested in equine practice, or
  • Currently a veterinary student that was interested in equine practice but changed your mind.
In return for your participation, you will receive a tote, grooming bucket, grooming towel, a flash drive, a pen, and a choice of one of the following depending on availability: wireless phone charger, nibble net, hay bag, clip light, fridge thermometer, bamboo silverware, or bucket straps.

If you are interested in participating, please respond email us at [email protected] and let us know which of the above categories you fall in, what state you live in, and that you are responding to the second wave of recruitment.

Thank you,
