Which residency programs D.O.s can apply that M.D.s can't ? please explain it.
Also do you have any information regarding the new matching program by NYCOM ? What is that ?
Thank you.

Ummm.... there's a several hundred actually, in all specialties from neurosurgery to family practice. The American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredites the D.O. residency programs. The AOA is the equivalent to the allopathic world's ACGME, which certifies MD programs. D.O. graduates can apply to all ACGME (M.D.) programs as well as AOA programs, but MD graduates can only apply to ACGME programs. Some programs are also dually accredited, meaning the ACGME and AOA has put their stamp on the program, thus both graduates can apply to these. These programs are few in number, but increasing.

As far as the "new matching" program at nycom, I'm a second year at nycom and a new program is news to me. I think you have some bad information there.

hope this clears things up for ya :)
