Hello!

The Women’s Mental Health Research Unit is currently seeking current female (AFAB) clinical psychology trainees who are in Canada or the United States to participate in an online Qualtrics survey. This survey will explore influencing factors for choosing to have or not have children in graduate school and will consist of a series of questionnaires that take approximately 45 minutes to complete. The project has been approved by the University of Regina REB on March 3rd, 2023.

Given the physical and mental burden associated with pregnancy and attempting to conceive on those who are assumed female at birth, and cultural beliefs about motherhood and academia, this project is focusing on exploring these experiences in women. We are particularly interested in women studying clinical psychology as there are many unique factors that could play an important role in these decisions (e.g., residency). By further understanding what factors may influence family planning, the results of this study can inform future institutional or cultural changes in clinical graduate training to better support women who may want to have children. The survey is completely anonymous, and participation can involve compensation in the form of a draw to win one in twenty $50 Amazon gift cards.

For further details, please email us at [email protected]. Thank you! If you are interested, please click on the link below to complete the eligibility survey:
