How does getting a rec from a physician you shadowed who is a grad from your state school help in admissions? thanks

well it counts as a letter from a doctor. can count as one of your main letters.
if he says good things it will help. if he says bland things then no.
i dont think the fact he went to your school will not make too much of a difference unless he is well known to the adcoms.

I got a rec from a doctor and the school that he was an alumni and was heavily involved in the school rejected me. So I would say it could help slightly but will more than likely hold the same weight as your other letters.
