Must there be blood coming out of skin for the skin to be broken? hypothetical situation: Pen pricks ones thumb, turns red and leaves mark of ink seeping within skin. If there is no blood can one be infected with a virus or bacteria?

'Hypothetically', Yes. (not all viruses are blood borne)
