My paper was accepted to a journal as first author. I am co-first author on the paper, but my name comes second alphabetically. When I list it on my application, is it okay to put my name first and bold it?

My rational behind this is that they will likely not check the footnotes so I don't want them to think I was second author.

Thanks

I didn't think you can bold any fonts in the application portals...

Short answer: no, don't change the order. Asterisks are useful to note joint authorship. Journals do this too. I won't go on about citation conventions...

Don't list it any way except how it appears in the journal. Write in the description on the application (which we do read), *co-first author with [insert other authors name].
