The New York University Pain Management Center offers a 12-month fellowship program in the management of acute and chronic pain syndromes. The program has applied to the ACGME for a change in complement to add a fourth fellow to the program. The Residency Review Committee of the ACGME will meet on May 14-15 and decide if the request is approved. If it is, the NYU PMC will fill the position for the regular rotation starting on July 1, 2009. Given the short turn-around, the NYU PMC is accepting applications now for the potential position.
We encourage applications from anesthesiologists, physiatrists, psychiatrists, and neurologists. Applicants should be PGY-5 or higher starting July 1, 2009.
The primary purpose of the fellowship is to provide the knowledge and skills needed by a specialist practicing pain medicine. Fellows gain experience in the decision-making process and performance and peri-procedural management of interventional pain management techniques.
If you have additional questions about the position or are interested in applying, please contact Michael Rubin at the NYU PMC at [michael.rubin] [@] [nyumc.org] (remove brackets and spaces).
