Possibilities after OS internship

Didn't match and doing a non-cat OMS year. I'm an over thinker and am already thinking of all the possibilities 1) I love it, improve my cbse and match next cycle, 2) I love it, but don't match again, 3) I don't like it like I thought I would, and go to GP work (after completing the 1 year commitment of course). If #3 happens... will the program hate me? How far behind will I be? It's scary not using the skills we have been honing throughout dental school for an entire year with the unknown of a non-cat year. Thoughts?

I’m doing a non cat too but scared of #2 option...

A friend of mine did an intern year where it was almost exclusively taking out teeth, decided he didn't want to go on to apply again the following year, and now works in a GP office doing just that - taking out teeth. Lots of thirds and full mouth extraction cases. So that's one avenue.
