WARNING FOR PORTABLE DENTAL UNITS

You sign into eBay after a long day in clinic and start searching for portable dental units and cheap simulators as in your quest for an at home setup. BINGO! You found one! Only $950 reserve, what a bargain?! ...

If you're a dental student and reading this post, you may be able to relate to this situation. It is actually a true story. Many students send me quotes of eBay simulators or portable dental units in an attempt to "price match" or get a better deal off our products at StuDental.

The problem is that more often than not, these adds are too good to be true. In this specific instance, on the surface the deal looked excellent (see first photo below).

However a closer look into the specifications found that the power supply of this unit was 110V and it was going to need an inverter (expensive) to run properly in Australia. On further inspection of photos it turned out that the unit had not been used with an inverter and instead a power adaptor only had been used previously (see below). This seriously undermines the function of the unit and will cause irreversible damage. It is also downright dangerous!

All of the products at StuDental are backed by a 1 year manufacturer warranty and are designed for AUSNZ 220-240V/50Hz power supplies. They have CE certification by TUV Rhineland and are of the highest quality. If you are serious about buying a home sim unit then please take this advice as a warning. Sometimes the thing which seems the cheapest will actually cost you much more when you have to replace it soon after because of poor quality/ design - and it is never worth risking your health to save a few hundred dollars!

Please feel free to email us at [email protected] or check out our website. You never know what you might find!

Thats all for now. Goodluck with the preps!
