Ponce St. Louis MD vs Western DO

Hi! I am having to decide between Ponce’s new branch campus in St. Louis, where I would be part of the second class, or Western University of Health Sciences DO program in Pomona, CA. I am from Orange County, CA so Western would be close to family and friends and is a lot more well established. I also would like to eventually end up back in CA for a career and potentially residency. But I am not sure what specialty I want to go into and want to keep as many doors open as possible and choose whichever option will set me up best for residency placement. Any insight is much appreciated!

If you're looking to go into a competitive specialty (evenly mildly competitive). Go MD.
