MD places to improve

Hello! My family is not supportive of medical school and is pushing hard for me to stay home and help take care of the family business. They aren't supporting me financially in applying to medical school, so I've been saving up and I am deciding to apply this upcoming cycle. Ideally, I would stay relatively close to home on the west coast and attend a top research school to enable me to continue research. Let me know your thoughts!

How do you have 7 publications, including 4 first author in different areas, across 4 years of research when you have only finished 2 years of college?

I assume you attend Harvard. I attend the same (well let's just say peer school) and am a senior who knows absolutely no one with more than 1 first author pub across premed and PhD students, and 85% of people have no first-author publications.

Not doubting you but how in the world?????
