google is your friend. "military pay scale", find O-3 with or without dependents: http://www.military.com/military/benefits/0,15465,2014-Military-Pay,00.html

google BAH and BAS rates: http://myarmybenefits.us.army.mil/H...ederal_Benefits_Page/Allowances.html?serv=227

google medical special pays: https://hr.mods.army.mil/SpecialPay/Documents/MCPayRates.htm

there you have your base pay, BAH, BAS, and medical pays. should be a good enough estimate. and it should only go up each year.

a word to the wise-- you are your own best advocate in the military, and stuff like this you should be able to get on your own-- who knows, maybe sdn will be blocked at your next duty station or something.

Thank you very much. I apologize for such a simple question.

I also found: http://www.tamc.amedd.army.mil/residency/mchk-dm/finances.htm

According to the website it is about $7894.60/mo for married and $7094.60/mo for single. It sounds like a lot of money to me. Of course... as I am learning more about military pay I realize it all depends on factors (where you are etc.)

Tripler is a different animal because Hawaii is so expensive. The monthly pay is actually higher now.

Ok... Lets try this...

O-3: $3874 (2014)
+BAH: $1863 (example: Tacoma WA, 2014)
+BAS: $239 (2012)
+COLA: $800 (est)
+Speciality Pay: $100 (est.)
=
Total (w/dependents): $6,876/mo or $82,512/yr

Resources are:
Pay: http://www.navycs.com/charts/2014-military-pay-chart.html
BAH: http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/bahCalc.cfm
Other estimates (BAS/COLA/Speciality Pay): These come from the website I posted above.

no COLA for living CONUS. are you calculating for tripler because that's where you are going? otherwise, yes, that's probably ballpark. plus you have to add in MASP (*after you graduate*). you don't get ISP until you graduate. i think for new interns your total gross pay is around 85k or so. if you are using this for financial purposes, make sure they understand BAH and BAS are non-taxed.

Yeah, obviously it is hugely dependent on your training location. By comparison, here is the current data I have for Tripler:

Base Pay- 3873.90
BAS- 246.24
BAH- 3600.00
OCONUS COLA- 972.00
VSP (intern)- 100.00

Total with 1 dependent: 8792.14/month, 105,505.68/yr
