If you include a surgery in your personal statement, will that be a good way of using adversity? I know that other people will talk about how their surgery led them to be involved with PT... but I had cancer, which made me stronger mentally... could I include that? Not much else in my essay shows adversity.

I wouldn't post this directly here, since any anonymous user can easily steal your statement for their own. Read the thread about getting advice on your essay. You can just as easily PM people.

I think anything that's your story is fine! It all depends on what points you are making and how it relates to you choosing PT. I have read a lot of varied essays out there. If you are passionate and truthful, I think that always comes out.
