I want to apply for internal medicine residency program and my personal statement in support to that program .
But I also want to apply for preliminary or transitional year . In this case should I write a new personal statement for these programs ??

Bump as I would like to know this as well, however I'll be applying Anesthesiology with IM backup, so my prelims will be for Anesthesiology.

Also - would it be ok to use an Anesthesiology letter of recommendation for a prelim spot?

Isn't there an AMCAS/ERAS option to send separate personal statements to different programs? It's been a while since I applied, so these finer details escape me now.
