Hi, i'm 6th year medical student from Bulgaria. I will hopefully graduate next year and i was hoping to become a resident in the UK. But the problem is that the two foundantion years in the UK, as far as i understand, are for students with no diploma. So i hear that i might get stamped "overqualified" and i couldn't become a resident. So is that true? And if so- what are my other options? Please respond...

I think they are for graduates of uk medical schools or wherever

Its like a 2 year internship vs 1 in the usa then they specialize

Probably helps to do some visiting rotations there

There's no such thing as overqualified for residency.

I think if you do an equivalent clinical year in Bulgaria, you can enter directly into FY2 in the UK.
