Hello all. So a few days ago I had a meeting with a physician for a research assistant position for his clinical trial. It's not in a typical wet lab, but my role consists of looking through patient EHR health records and their lab work and comparing that data with them after their procedure is done. It also involves calling patients and asking them questions etc. I don't know if I will get published. But, it also requires me to take a certification course to make sure I can work with patients etc.

Do medical schools look down on research like this since it's not a traditional wet lab? I am really interested in this opportunity but don't know how it will affect my application. Please provide your thoughts!! Overall, I plan on taking this position but just want advice on how I can incorporate these skills into my application.
