Hi! Is there anyone here who has volunteered as an Ophthalmology Resident in a private clinic? I would like to know what duties you had, if you learned something and if it is worth going there in addition to the hours at the hospital.

Isn't really clear what you are referring to or in what context. Probably need to phrase the question better or give more information to get better answers.
In the US an ophthalmology resident is someone who has completed medical school and is spending 4 years to train to be a board certified ophthalmologist. Most programs are both hospital based and clinic based in all areas of subspecialties and there is not a need to get any other experience. It might not be this way in other countries.
