Can anyone tell me the general laws for OD's in California? Are they limiting in terms of treatment they can gave? Do you think anything will change in the near future?
Another question, is it true that if one wants to practice in CA, they should go to a school in California?
Thanks

Dear lazgirl24:

1. An amplification bill will most likely start in 2008. This was the settlement that the optometrists and ophtahlmologists made back in 1999 (or 1998?) to create the current therapeutics law for optometrists.

2. In my opinion, the next law will be broader than the present one.

3. You don not need to attend a California school to do well on the CA boards. CA is an "open" state and creates a fair board and license exam. In other words, if you did well in school, you will get a CA license.
