Hi Everyone,

My background is in electrical engineering, I graduated in 2015 from my undergrad and 2016 from my masters.

My main question is that I do not have any volunteer/clinical/shadowing experience. Since I would be applying next year June 2020 I was wondering whats the best way to get this sort of experience. I was looking into volunteering for St. John Ambulance as an Emergency First Responder. Are there any other programs or volunteer positions that are looked at as better by med schools?

Any suggestions/advice would be really appreciated.

Yep, that's fine. Or volunteer at a hospital, hospice, non-profit organization, help line, or anything where you're interacting with patients. Hard to know which (if any) programs are looked at more favourably, so just do whatever interests you.

Have a look for our volunteer opportunity ad in Classifieds -- Non Profit organizations.
