So, I took the NAPLEX and score transferred to Pennsylvania and Maryland, in case I don't find a job in NJ. I got letters back from both states saying that my scores are valid for 1 year and if I apply for licensure after the expiration date, I have to take the NAPLEX again. Is this true, or can I just practice in NJ for 1 year and then apply for MD or PA for licensure?

i think how it works is that if you want to do score transfer then its only valid for whatever time they say. after that, you can reciprocate (transfer the license rather than the naplex score) and then you have to meet whatever requirements they have for reciprocating (you also have to pay a fee to NABP) but i don't think any state would require you to retake the naplex when reciprocating.

if you apply within one year you just take mpje.

if you want to apply after that, you must work for 1 year in another state to be eligible to reciprocate. that works for any state.
