Do you get paid significantly less at a health professional shortage area than you would elsewhere?

I'm thinking the 230k they give you could be earned over time (without a service obligation) at a higher paying site.

It really depends on the setting. Community health centers tend to pay below average. But prisons and very rural settings often pay more. But yeah, you could definitely pay back your loans without the scholarship lol. It’s kind of like the military scholarship programs: only do it if you want to work in that setting anyways
