I read an article awhere the musicians they interviewed played their Ipods on shuffle and listed the songs...
So let's see your musical tastes, and don't leave any off.

Here are the first 10 or so that came up on my mp3 player shuffled.
(Artist) - (Song)
Propellerheads - On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Cake - Shadow Stabbing

Frank Black - Headache

Morrissey - Everyday Is Like Sunday

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit

Echo & The Bunnymen - The Game

Harvey Danger - Flagpole Sitta

Daft Punk - Ian Pooley 'Chord Memory' (Daft Punk Remix)

Modest Mouse - Float On

The White Stripes - Forever For Her (Is Over For Me)

Morphine - Mary Won't You Call My Name?

Well that's 12. Good Song to stop on too...
I was typing comments after most of them, but studentdoc.net crashed.. so I just put the list in...

All 4 Rachmaninoff piano concertos.
Chopin concertos #1 and #2
Couple of Van Cliburn albums with a variety of songs
Brahms concerto #1

Prog rock/metal:
All of Dream Theater's albums
Symphony X live album
All of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy albums

Yep. It came out on Tuesday (title= Under the Iron Sea). I'm still getting used to it, but there are appx 4 songs that I liked immediately.

I have over 15,000 songs on mine (pretty much all indie/punk/new wave/american underground). So I could potentially create 1.6 x 10^35 different lists.

Shuffle.....

Black Flag- Nervous Breakdown
Husker Du- Girl who lives on heaven hill
Pixies- Debaser
Public Image Limited- Public Image Limited
Joy Division- Disorder
Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Maps

Placing "Blackbird" and Asia in the same list is sacrilege on the highest order. I can hear John Lennon spinning in this grave right now. If Paul McCartney wasn't ass-deep in divorce lawyer bills right now, he'd be pissed, too.

We are talking about a beautiful, poignant, and expertly crafted melody about African American's struggle during the Civil Rights movement and placing it in the same category has a throw-away I-love-the-80's crapfest about feeling up the hot chick in homeroom. Seriously. Its like taking the last-ranked first year medical student at your school and comparing him with Virchow.

I put it there merely to agitate, replace it with the Police hit "King of Pain"

Not really much better than anything by Asia, but whatever floats your boat.

Because the ipod's shuffle feature is beyond reproach. It knows what you want to hear even better than you do. If it lists Asia with the Beatles, then they should be listed that way, dammit!

My shuffle list:

Sunny Day Real Estate - Seven
Mogwai - Christmas Song
Battles - B + T
Braid - Never Will Come For Us
Mark Mothersbaugh - Sharp Little Guy (could LADoc and I both have the Rushmore sountrack in the ipod?)
Minus the Bear - Get Me Naked 2: Electric Boogaloo
Pixies - Trompe le Monde
Catherine Wheel - Future Boy (?)
Bele Bartok - Hornpipe Dance
Michael Jackson - Thriller (number 11, but how can you leave that out?)

I will freely admit that I have NO TASTE in music whatsoever...

1. Night Moves...Bob Seger
2. Take it Easy...the Eagles
3. Stayin Alive...Bee Gees (sad, I know)
4. You Shook Me All Night Long...AC/DC
5. Born to be a Bachelor...Gaelic Storm
6. Alive...Pearl Jam
7. Takin' the Long Way...Dixie Chicks
8. Paperback Writer...Beatles
9. Fat Bottom Girls...Queen (in no way a self-indictment)
10. I Ain't as Good As I Once Was...Toby Keith

I would be lost without my iPod. It took until this spring until I got one, and now I cherish it almost as much as my computer.

Shuffle:

10,000 days -- Tool
Cowboy -- Kid Rock
Tourniquet -- Marilyn Manson
Little Bird -- Annie Lennox
Tango 'til They're Sore -- Tom Waits
Ashokan Farewell -- Evan Stover, Jay Ungar, Matt Glaser, Molly Mason, & Russ Barenberg
Suite No. 6 Prelude -- J.S. Bach (performed by Yo-Yo Ma)
Stagger Lee -- Taj Mahal
Transylvania Concubine -- Rasputina
Bulls on Parade -- Rage Against the Machine

Add me to the list of non-metalhead pathologists....

1. Prelude No. 14 in F-sharp minor - Bach (Glenn Gould)
2. Let's Never Stop Falling in Love - Pink Martini
3. Can You Hear Me - Missy Elliott
4. Waiting for the Moon to Rise - Belle & Sebastian

8. Hoobastank - The Reason
9. Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Prayer (WTF?!)
10. Joss Stone - Super Duper Love

I have to say you Path people have a generally pretty good taste in music...few odd ball things but I'm sure my shuffle on itunes of all 38 gigs of music will bring some wacky stuff too. I'm not path but I will put my last few songs I listened to.

Van Morrison-The Way Young Lovers Do
Tool- Jambi (or however it is spelled)
Perfect Circle- Passive
Dilated Peoples- 20-20
Bob Dylan- Just Like a Woman
The Clash- London Calling
Lamb of God- Omerta
LCD Soundsystems- Daft Punk is Playing at my house
Frank Sinatra-The Single man
starting to get tough to remember now

Counting Crows- Omaha
Primer 55- The Big F*** You
and uhhhhhhh
Buddy Rich- Big Swing Face

I think that proves that I have an odd taste.

Love the music threads...

I don't have an iPod but here are some of the songs I've listened to most recently...

1.) Black Sabbath - Hole in the Sky
2.) Alphaville - Forever Young
3.) Tears for Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World
4.) Metallica - One
5.) Bach - Double violin concerto in d minor
6.) Watain - The Devil's Blood
7.) Rainbow - Man on the Silver Mountain (live in Munich '77)

That's about all. It's definitely, er, eclectic.

Hey I really like that cd....besides I've recently eaten expired mayonnaise for the second time in two months... This proves I have poor judgment

besides I've recently eaten expired mayonnaise for the second time in two months
My mother and my brother spent 5 minutes this evening discussing the pros and cons of eating very very old frozen whipped cream with "black dots in it." Some of it was consumed...
I stood by with 911 on hold. :scared:

I've spent too much time in Germany and have developed a strong fondness for BMW.lol So maybe it is part jealousy when I see all these spoiled little girls (and guys) with 40+ thousand dollar cars.

Yes, I'm spoiled, but I have also worked very hard for a lot of things in my life (I started working for my dad when I was eight and got paid a whopping three dollars an hour with no breaks) . I also gave up a lot of opportunities early in life so I could be where I am today. So when I look at what I have now, I know that I deserve at least some of what I have. And trust me, my life is not always kittens and rainbows and at age 28, I still have my parents telling me how to live my life.

So I'm sitting here checking out studentdoctor, listening to the iPOD which my amazing wife just bought for me, and decided to resurrect this thread.
1. Jump - Van Halen
2. Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
3. Seasons of Love - Rent
4. Come Out and Play - The Offspring
5. Hella Good - No Doubt
6. Bring Me to Life - Evanescence
7. Mr. Brightside - The Killers
8. I'm Gonna Be - The Proclaimers
9. The Reflex - Duran Duran
10. Big Yellow Taxi - Counting Crows
