I was invited to interview at Mt. Sinai (Beth Israel) in NYC, but I discovered that the program is undergoing "restructuring" and closing the main hospital to open a much small one with only ~70 beds. Does anyone know more about this, and how this change would be expected to affect the cardiology fellows? They now have a hospital with nearly 800 beds, but the restructuring will be complete by 2020 at which time I will still be in fellowship. I don't know if they have a plan for the fellows, or if I might end up getting stuck in an awkward transition period. Any insight on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks!
