if u guys have kaplan blue book it's the page 31.
we start with 2 chromosomes (prophase)
each centrioles in the opposite side take 2 chromatins each(2centrioles x 2 chromatins each = 2 chromosomes, so far so good?)(anaphase)

now during the telophase, nuclear envelope appears and surrounds 2 chromatins.

during the cytokinesis, cytoplam get splitted.

so now, there are 2 daughter cells that have 2 chromatins that is 1 chromosome each. we started with 2 chromosomes and now they became 1 chromosome each. so i think the number of choromosomes decreased in half, becuz 1 went to one daguther cell and the other one went to the other daughter cell. so how does this book say "each nucleus contains the same number of chromosomes as the parent nucleus?"

You have to take into consideration the S phase of the cell cycle. You start with ONE chromosome originally. In the S phase, the number of chromosomes double (you now have 2). Then mitosis phase occurs and now you get two cells with ONE chromosome in each.
