The University of Chicago Med-Peds Residency along with the Illinois Chapter of the AAP and NMPRA will be hosting the Midwest Region NMPRA meeting. The meeting will take place Saturday, May 12th at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. The theme of the meeting will be Transition Care. The keynote speaker will be nationally known author, Jeffrey Arnett, PhD on the topic of "Emerging Adulthood." Free CME will be provided to physicians courtesy of ICAAP. The full agenda will be forthcoming but will include lectures and workshops regarding transition care, patients discussing their experiences with transition, a panel of PD's and residents for medical students to query about Med Peds training and a panel of MP trained fellows for residents to query regarding fellowship application..



There will be a call to residents and medical students to submit posters and clinical vignettes with transition as a theme. More information will come soon regarding submissions. Medical students and residents will also be invited to a happy hour on Friday May 11th.

Transitions in Care-Transitions in Life


The University of Chicago Med-Peds Residency, along with the Illinois Chapter of the AAP, the Kovler Diabetes Center, the Pritzker School of Medicine and the National Med Peds Residents Association are co-sponsoring the Midwest Region NMPRA meeting!

When: Saturday, May 12[SIZE=-1]th[/SIZE]

Where: University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine

Focus: Transition Care-Care for adolescents and young adults with special health care needs.

Keynote speaker: Jeffrey Arnett, PhD, nationally known research Professor and author, speaking about “Emerging Adulthood.”

The day will include case-based lectures and workshops regarding transition care, patients discussing their experiences with transition, break-out sessions for generalist and specialist groups to help foster transition programs, a panel of Med-Peds Program Directors and residents for medical students to query about Med Peds training and a panel of Med-Peds trained fellows for residents to query regarding fellowship application.

Medical students and residents are invited to submit abstracts for a poster competition.

Medical students and residents will also be invited to a happy hour on Friday May 11[SIZE=-1]th[/SIZE].

NMPRA and the University of Chicago are pleased to be hosting the NMPRA midwest regional meeting, focused on transition care! Please plan on joining us on May 12, 2012 on the University of Chicago Campus.

All medical students, residents and fellows are encouraged to submit poster abstracts to be included in the meeting. Recognition will be given to the best posters!
