Middle Tier IM Programs (aka, programs an average US grad should apply to)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Essentially, is the community program a stigma when applying to oh..say..cards?

Short answer is yes, especially when applying to something like cards. There are a few community programs out there that have great reputations nationwide and from which graduates are competitive with "middle-tier" university programs. Henry Ford, CPMC, St. Lukes/Roosevelt and Virginia Mason are ones I'm familiar with but there are obviously others. However there are a lot more community programs (the majority) in which, your only real chance to match a competitive fellowship, is to match internally.
