A lot of medicine programs around the country have switched to or are in the process of switching to the 4+1 schedule. Has anyone heard of medpeds programs doing this? Would it even be feasible for medpeds programs? I also wonder what happens if the categorical programs are on the 4+1 while the medpeds programs are on the traditional one.

Don't quote me on this because I haven't interviewed here yet, but I think Tulane's categorical IM side does the 4+1 schedule. So I THINK you are on the 4+1 schedule during your IM months but the other schedule for Peds.

Loyola MedPeds is 4+1 for medicine, traditional for peds--they said they're looking into 4+1 for peds too but with restrictions from the RRC, right now it's not feasible. KU-Wichita has 4+1 for categorical IM, but MedPeds do the traditional schedule for both IM and Peds.
