If you're wondering why such an interesting topic is getting so few replies, it's because there's a thread on the same thing just a little way down on the first page. It's the second thread down on the "similar threads" list at the bottom of my screen as I type this, whose last post is about 8 hours old.

How is this not considered prostitution? Also, being a medical student, is she not concerned about her future career prospects after this?

Especially now that someone will recognize her and let slip her real name and school.

She's planning to consummate the relationship in Australia to get around prostitution laws in the US. And seriously.... even if her medical school does not kick her out for lack of professionalism (which I think is a distinct possibility despite what her lawyer thinks), it will be awfully difficult to get into residency if her name gets released and a quick Google search turns up a bunch of pictures of her in lingerie (even ignoring the news articles about selling her virginity).

If someone goes to Thailand and sleeps with a child, they are still prosecuted in the US. Why is it any different in this case? Just curious.

Also, this girl is too much of a generic photoshopped blonde imo.
btw guys, in china you can pay to have a hymen reconstruction surgery so she could keep doing this over and over again and be rolling in so much dough she can just retire afterwards lol.
Uh, you can do it right in your home state sweetie.

That's a very interesting question. Common sense says that the severity of the crime of child molestation and sexual assault would rise to the level of compelling international law enforcement agencies to cooperate enough to prosecute such a crime here in the states.

The constitution is circumspect about American criminal law applying outside its borders and territorial waters and therefore international extradition treaties and international law itself seems to address these issues more frequently.

I found this when searching this topic: http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/94-166.pdf

Prostitution being an arguably victimless crime, much like smoking a joint in Amsterdam are things that should never be the purvey of American criminal law. In my opinion at least.

I think looking at it in reverse might useful as well: you could be arrested for driving a car as a female under Saudi law. I don't think American law would protect your rights if you get convicted--convicted?!...f@ck-- for driving there.

Honestly, I don't know the legal basis for this... only that her lawyers say that it is legal. I assume it has something to do with the way sex tourism and child exploitation laws are written since American men could (as far as I know) not be prosecuted for having sex with a prostitute over 18 in a country where prostitution is legal.

That makes sense. I assume it falls under the assault category for categories of crime that may be prosecuted if committed overseas.

I feel like the only reason she can do this is because it's so "out there" that it's almost protecting her from her school doing something to her( assuming she is actually a medical student). I've heard of students getting kicked out/ demerits for doing much less obviously. However I guess due to how extreme her situation is, she's gotten a ton of press, and any action her school takes against her would be rather public. So I feel like it's almost protecting her in a way.

Her 'face'. Like the body shots, it's 95% photoshop.

550k for 10 minutes with a "virgin" who has to photoshop and airbrush the crap out of her photos to even look moderately desirable. It wouldn't be hard to find plenty of women much hotter than her to give it away for much less than half a million dollars. I guess some people just have more money than brains.

My last two exes are better looking than that and the most I've spent was 70 dollars at the cheesecake factory. Am I doing it wrong?

Why would anyone pay over a half million dollars to sleep with a girl that's pushing thirty, had no idea what she's doing, and requires you to wear a condom? Wtf, I just don't get it. Must be billionaires that are bored and have nothing better to do.

Seriously, how could her identity not have been outed by now. MD/PhD isn't exactly an enormous population.
Wait, she's an MD/PhD student? I thought they all had tuition waivers. Why is she even doing this if it's not for tuition?

Clearly you've been remiss in your research. She's outed herself. I'll bet the 550k bid is regretting his decision now, not that it was intelligent in the first place.

edit: nevermind lol, I hadn't even seen this thread, thought it was the original one.

But were they virgin med students?

I knew this girl in undergrad that worked as an exotic dancer (can't use stripper.....got to be PC...lol) and paid for her undergrad and made the cash for med school.

She was smart and very beautiful. She said why should she get into such debt when she can use her assets to her advantage. She is now a practicing physician.

She stopped her night job once she was accepted. I am not even sure if they even know. I just happen to see her somehow.....not that I have ever been to such a place. lol

I mean the thing with stripping...who would ever know? Unless you disclosed it. This auction thing, or porn, or playboy - you're up on the Internet and will be one quick google search away from discovery for the rest of your life. Stripping still seems relatively anonymous.

Yeah, it is UNLESS someone happens to visit that establishment. It is not out of the rim in a fairly smaller city that one guy might have seen her. I mean if you ever saw her you would never forget her.

I lost contact after we graduated from undergrad. I went another way and now back into medicine. Things always seem to get out. But, lucky for her this was around 2001.

If you were the one to out her, though, you'd have to reveal that you were at the strip club. It's not as if these women are blind (well, some of them are literally blind, but that's another story). She'd see you there just as you'd see her.

I would not out her. I do not care what she does. I think it was a smart idea. Plus, I was not in med school then. It was 10 yrs before I went.

Oh, no, that statement wasn't about you in particular. Replace "you" with "one" and then it should become much clearer what the intent of my post was.

Unless you write in anonymously and send pix!

I still think the bid is fake. I might buy anything up to like 10K but 500K? Only the weirdest of billionaires would even consider spending 500K on some fake looking virgin. That kind of money would buy you a week of serious debauchery.

Like this x1000.

Maybe she does not want to do medicine at all and realizing that she is straddled by medical school debt needs a way to get off.
Well she will be straddling something, I'm sure.

doubt it. Once the money is in her account, she can smugly lay back and take it like a champ.

This brings up a good point. I wonder if there is a dead fish clause that negates/reduces payment or something.

People are actually willing to pay 550k for that?

It would've been funnier if you insinuated that they had STDs. Hilarious still though.

Have you seen the cost of a subpar 2 oz cup of coffee in Charles De Gaulle airport? Yeah, people be crazy.

(and yeah I bought it)

That's because it's France, you shouldn't be drinking coffee. You should be drinking espresso.

No, I was warned about the black tar they call "coffee" over there. I stuck to overpriced booze. I have, however, bought plenty of tacky, subpar goods in other tourist destinations for far more than they're worth. Also toast at a Japanese hotel for $10.
