58 y/o with painful mass in the left medial antecubital fossa. Radiologist says most compatible with schwannoma (image below). + Tinel's over mass, no distal neuro deficit - normal strength, sensation and reflexes.
EMG shows low amplitude median motor (3.1mV) but normal NCV in the forearm and upper arm, and normal distal latency. Median sensory normal. I inched across the mass and there was no conduction delay or amlpitude drop. Ulnar nerve normal. Needle exam benign including PT, FDP, FCR and APB.
I'm not that familiar with schwannomas - is this normal for a case like this - motor axonal loss only without demylination? My books don't have any info and medline didn't help.
