What is the purpose of waiting to release your scores? This may be a dumb question but can you see your results and then decide to release them?

Also, if you don't release them right away do the schools you're applying to know this and do they look down upon this?

One more. If you don't release them ever, and you take it again and release the second score, do the schools you're applying to know that it's your second time taking it and you didn't release the first scores? What do they think of that?

I know that's a lot of questions but please try to address each one if you have any insight. I'm very confused and have checked out the FAQ's on AAMC and others but to no avail.

no, you can't see your score first and then decide to release them. i'm not sure what the purpose of waiting to release your scores is except i guess if you're not confident about how you will do...

yes, the schools know. i'm not sure if they'll look down on it but they'll sure wonder... and maybe extrapolate the worst.

as for the second question, my answer's the same as above.
