If you read the article, you can see how much of a lie the headline actually is. Clickbait

Omg...so no opioid. Gabapentin and Lyrica are said to be bad.
Can't do interventions.
So what do we do? Just Pain psych. And suck it up buttercup?

This is going to cause a 2 tiered system. Pay cash, get ur esi and get back to work

"An analysis of pregabalin deaths in England between 2004-2020 has shown that in over 90 percent of deaths, the presence of other opioids (including methadone or morphine) was detected. However, in only a quarter of cases were these opioids actually prescribed to the person. This suggests that people were probably sourcing these drugs through illicit means.."

i would say as clickbait it was well executed

it draws viewers in. it never says in the title that pregabalin caused the deaths.

the implication is that pregabalin is, and this entices people to read the article, or take the assumption that pregabalin was in fact to blame.

it also implies that it is affecting a lot of people, when the numbers are low (444), setting up the assumption that this is the new scourge of OD...
