Has anyone else contacted programs and asked if they will take additional letters of rec? Quite a few of the programs I'm applying to state that they want 3 letters and don't specify if they will accept an additional letter (I have 4). I have sent a few programs emails but some either do not have contact info or did not respond to my email (and some programs only offer the email of the PD, rather than another contact person, and I'm somewhat hesitant to contact the PD with a question that's more just me being neurotic than anything else).
