I'm looking for an NMAT reviewer, anybody wants to sell? Thanks.

You can buy one at National Bookstore by MSA. Although I don't recommend that you spend the dough. NMAT relies more on stock knowledge and most med schools accept applicants with NMAT scores on the ranges of 70 up (at least during my time, don't know what "their" acceptable range is now). But if you're aiming for UP-PGH, 95 up should be your goal.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'm gonna try to google National bookstore if I can buy it from here.

Hi Juve! You're better off reviewing the sample questionaire that comes with the NMAT application form. I recall thinking how the actual NMAT exam was way easier than their sample questionaire. It also helps because it identifies subject areas that you need to focus on. Good luck on your NMAT! Dont sweat it... :)

You are not wasting time if you are taking Nursing. It's better if you finish your Nursing before going to Med school. Your perception of Medicine and being a doctor might change once you are in med school. Look at the MANY specialists doctors going Nursing schools. This is a bad sign that you don't want to regret any decision. 22 is every young and you will work your whole life as a doctor. Some start as a med student in their 40's.

hey do you think nursing is a better pre med course than biology? some say that nursing is an advantage,,but a lot of magnificent and popular doctors here in davao took biology for pre med.or does it really matter what pre med course should you take to cope better with the lessons youll face when you proceed?

Your pre-med course will not matter in med school. You'll have an advantage in basic science with Biology, but in most clinical years and practical matters Nursing has advantages. Plus you can work as a nurse if med school does not pan out unlike Biology where there is not much job choice in the Philippines.

ako natatakot tlga,,
d ko kc sure f kya ko nga ba,e. i mean, im not bad sa studies ko, nursing, pero,,
i need tlga ng review, im planning (again) magTake sa December (God willing), sana mkpasa,, Goodluck sating lahat..

Hmm I took a review class for nmats coz I was just too lazy to self study and I got stuck with boring teachers. So I didn't show up for most of the seesions. I did show up for the practice exams. You actually just need to do the practice tests in the booklets. It's not as hard as it looks. And it's true, the sample questions are harder. So don't worry guys. Relax. Good luck! :) Almost half of the test you really dont need to study for anyways.

Hmm now that I think about it, the math teacher did help a lot. My last math course was about 4 years before I took the nmats and it was calculus. Lots of algebra and geometry and problem solving from what I remember. I guess it's good to take a crash course on those things if your not good in math like me :) Although I know a couple of people who basically just skip most of the math section.

well, tootles.

they say that the MSA reviewer is more harder than the sample questionnaire given by CEM, and that the sample questionnaire by CEM is harder than the actual exam.

dunno if that's true! hope some experienced NMAT-taker can support my claim.

anyways, get the MSA reviewer. it's a nice reviewer to work on. answer the sample questionnaire first, it's worth a try. try to answer that a week or 2 before the actual test. use the MSA reviewer as reference and answer on it a month before the test. that'll be my plan for this coming NMAT. hope it works.

:D

Hi there! I am a 22 year old graduate of BS Tourism in an Aeronautical school here in the Philippines, and I really want to be a doctor. I went to different schools in Manila and one of my choice is UERM, as long as your a graduate of a BS or AB 4 year course it is okay with them. I know that I'll be struggling with med school since I don't have any pre-med. I'm planning to take some supplementary subjects to prepare me for my application next year 2010 although UERM doesn't require me to take it. Why do schools have different requirements? With FEU I will be taking a lot of science and math subjects. Gee... this will take me to finish it for 3 years... and I am planning to take the NMAT exam this December of 2009 and if I will get a low score I'll get one more in April next year.
This is so hard for me... But I really want it that is why I am doing this... I never give up easily...:luck:

Why do schools have different requirements?

Is that really your question?

I don't know why they have different requirements. I'm still trying to figure out why McDonald's and Jollibee have different colored uniforms.

You're a breath of fresh air. Keep us informed of your progress. This board has been quiet lately, and we can all use a good laugh!

If you really want to get to med school next year, there are so many schools that dont even require prerequisites or NMAT cutoff. UERM has a cutoff of 55 but you can inquire with so many that does not have subject prerequisites. If FEU won't take you, DLSU, San Beda, Fatima, or even MCU will readily take you.
