just wondering how this works

if you were interested in doing an internship at a location that does not have a "accelerated" track to dual residency what are the chances that you could get this accomplished?

would they just cut out the internship year, since you have already satisfied it elsewhere?

thank you.

I am interested in this as well - any thoughts are welcome!!

In my case, I am most likely going to do a military residency, however none exists for MedPeds. Given the abundance of accreditation information on NMPRA and AAIM (www.im.org/MPPDA/default.htm), it seems that it wouldn't be too difficult to initegrate a MedPeds program at a teaching hospital where a IM and Pediatric residencies exist.

Any thoughts on military MedPeds will be greatly appreciated as well...

Both programs would have to agree, and they would have to apply for preliminary accreditation (for Med-Peds... other programs would probably have to get some kind of permission from the applicable boards). Unless the programs are already thinking of doing this, I'd look elsewhere.
