LECOM Waitlist Question

Hi- I am on the LECOM alternate list for the class of 2007, and have sent some additional letters of recommendations and letter of intent to the adcom. LECOM is my top choice, and I want to make sure they know this. My question is if I should apply for the certificate one-year program that LECOM offers. I know that it might help my chances of being accepted off the alternate list, but do you think that it may hurt my chances? Since I am willing to wait a year if I have to, do you think they will look at that as negative?
