LECOM health insurance

Hey

I received the health insurance info today...Should I get it? It's $134 a month. RIght now I'm paying $64 a month for a $1500 deductible....

I think you would do better off keeping your old insurance, if possible. If that isn't possible, look into insurance through SOMA, the AOA group for students. You can find information on their programs (they have 4) at www.somainsurance.com.

LECOM's insurance isn't all that great. It doesn't include prescriptions and most doctors won't take it in Erie. (Some of the docs affiliated with the school take the insurance as a courtesy.) Almost none of the OB/GYN's in town take it.

For some reason, most docs in Erie don't take Aetna. It's something I would check into before you get here. The SOMA program pays 80% of doctors visits and you can go to whatever doc you choose. Good luck!
