The Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins has an opening for an Ethnic Skin Dermatology Fellow beginning July 1, 2014 at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.
Applications are due before 5/24/2014.
1. The Ethnic Skin Program was founded in 2009 and is an integral part of the Department of Dermatology of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. This is the first year of the Ethnic Skin Dermatology Fellowship.
2. Responsibilities include:
a. 50-60% Clinical care: Providing care for complex patients with cutaneous diseases known to disproportionately affect people with pigmented skin
b. 40-50% Research: Participation in ethnic skin related research projects. There are opportunists for clinical, basic, and epidemiologic research.
3. The Ethnic Skin Dermatology Fellow is a full participant in the teaching program in Dermatology and attends all major teaching conferences as a full Member of the Dermatology fellowship program. They have responsibilities of presenting at resident teaching conferences as other dermatology residents.
4. Individuals with a strong clinical and academic interest in ethnic skin dermatology are preferred and experience with clinical research and IRB’s is considered a major plus.
5. The appointment is for a 1 year commitment. We are unable to make any guarantee of a future residency position in dermatology at Johns Hopkins.
