Hi every one,
I got admission inUCLA, UCSF school of dentistry for the IDP program and i decided to join in UCSF thinking that the post graduation chances are better from UCSF. I am also in waiting list in UPENN and i was wondering which one is better among all in the aspects of post graduation chances. I am interested in Orthodontics or Endo or OMS. Can any one can let me know about the post graduation chances from these colleges.
I will be very happy if some one can help me.

Have a nice day

I dont know anything about the Cali schools, but I thnk all 3 of them have excellent match rates for specialization. I do know for a fact that Penn has one of the b est in the country with 14/18 matching in ortho this year. Penn is a school known for specialization.

and the Penn ortho program is only 2 years.

Hi guys,
Thanx a lot for the postings.
I will be very happy if some more can be posted in this thread by others too.

Have a nice day and All the best to you all

4 IDP from UCSF applied for Ortho this year. The word is, all 4 got in.

Did IDP from Upenn. They have externship programs, think they still do.......that would really help a person interested in specialty. Not many IDP programs offer that.....certain schools have it for regular students, but not IDP!

In Endo right now, and generally Penn is known for it's high no. of students getting into specialisation.......I do have to say that I do not know much about UCSF.......I would look into how many of the IDP students from UCSF get into master's.....

Good luck!

If you have any specific questions, it would be easy to answer.... :)

Hi everyone,
i would like to know what is the basis of getting an admission in to specialty program. I will be happy if u can shed some light on it

Sorry, I am kinda new to the dental forum.
What's IDP?
I am in similar situation as krishhhhh that I got accepted to UCLA and UCSF. I am deciding which one to go to.
Problem is all those are great schools. Either way I will get a good education, but I will have to give a good sch away as well.
If you have any idea, please pm, since I dont want to interupt this thread. Thanks so much

Basis for specialty programs basically comes down to class rank and board scores. There are of course other factors, but those 2 are probably weighted 90% with the other weighing in 10%.

Hi scandalouslj,
Thanx for the info

All the best

Krishhhh,
