Just heard from Rush via email this morning. I think I'm going to decline, because I don't have any time left to head out to Chicago.
Thanks for everybody's help!

EvilNewbie said:Since the Dean's Letter, I received two more interviews which makes a grand total of 20+ interviews AND 1 REJECTION from DUKE (b@$t@rd$). Hehehe.... I have a definite grudge against Duke now, first rejection from medical school and now residency.... hehehe... Believe it or not, I am still worried about getting accepted into a good program... I do agree that interview offers have been slow after the Dean's Letters as compared to when I initially handed in ERAS in late September... Good luck everyone and will someone out there pray for me...
yaah said:The anti-Duke vitriole on this thread is oddly very amusing. Coach K stinks!
cytoborg said:I'm curious, do you guys have a specific complaint regarding the Duke program? (Or is this just generalized bitterness?) Please share so those of us crossing over to the dark side to interview there can be forewarned.
It is my understanding that it's a solid program with some well-known names, though my specifics are lacking. Any thoughts?
AndyMilonakis said:Easy now. Coach K is an awesome coach as is his basketball team (Duke basketball fan here). The whole anti-Duke thing is specific to the pathology program...no need to bring basketball into this
AndyMilonakis said:Hey use that for what it's worth. That means they read your Dean's letter and liked what they read. Whether you end up declining or not, that means your Dean's letter is good
geddy said:Just curious - did you get to see your Dean's Letter before it went out? We got to look at ours and proof it to make sure there were no errors.
Pookies said:We were able to proof it for spelling and factual errors. We were not allowed to change anything else. All faculty comments were in there. . . Good, Bad, and indifferent.
sandyworks said:I have not heard from any programs at all since the dean's letter came out, except for U Wash, which I emailed myself. I don't know, I was expecting more of a wave of completion, either rejections or interview offers. But so far, nothing.

i totally feel your pain...
I went this past ENTIRE WEEK w/o hearing from a single place. And mind you, this is AFTER I emailed UCSF, Iowa, and Baylor Houston asking them when I could plan on hearing from them esp since now my deans is avail (they had stated to me that they needed my dean's). Nilche, Nodda, Nothing since.
Hope this next week is Hugh Jass in terms of interviews.

yaah said:I didn't know you could put the women from the escort service on a credit card! Next time, pay cash.
AndyMilonakis said:Wow, you're pretty witty tonight. You don't seem to be running out of 'em tonight.
stormjen said:Yeah, this is turning out to be ridiculously-expensive. I remember how I used to naively think that I could bunch regional interviews together, thereby saving on airfare. Haha, such innocence.
yaah said:I'm like 7/11. I never close.
AndyMilonakis said:Damn! Interview season is expensive! Got two credit card bills in the mail today...one for $2955.77 and the other for $1023.22.
I'm gonna have to live on ramen noodles for the next 2 months. Maybe Kroger will have a special, 8 packs for a buck!
