Interview Waitlists

I have received emails from three different schools indicating that I have been put on their "interview waitlist"

I am unsure what to think of this as it is still early but my application has obviously not made the initial cut. Are there people out there that have gotten off these waitlists?

I applied to three schools that had interview waitlists in the 2019-2020 cycle. I was placed on 2 interview waitlists and never got off them. The other school had an interview waitlist but I was placed on the regular waitlist after interviewing and eventually got accepted. I followed the school specific threads though and didn't hear of anyone getting off the interview waitlists. Keep your chin up though and it's not too late to toss more applications in.
