Hi ,

I have compiled interview questions from various sources. This includes almost every general question that can be asked in interviews especially NYU nd BU as they ask very general questions.
But remember these are general ques that apply to everyone. Plus you can be asked ques from your personal statement and other application material. So remember to look at your application and think about every possible ques and answer. If you have written your personal statement yourself then it should not be problem. Also they ask sometime ques about your location. For example if you are from california then they can ask why new york school and not california school. If you are student at some univ at the time of interview then they can ask why did you join that program and that univ
Here are other general ques .

  2. .how would a friend describe you?.
  3. .list 3 things you want me to know about?.
  4. .what are your hobbies?.
  5. .how do you pass your time?.
  6. . what are your strengths and weaknesses .
  7. . how are you unique.
  8. .what about yourself would you change if u could?.
  9. . what 3 material objects important to you.
  10. . how important is family to you.
  11. . what people have influenced you and how.
  12. .tell me a significant event in your life and how it shaped you?.
  13. . how do you handle stress .Profession related ques
  14. .why do you want to be a dentist?.
  15. .why did u choose this program ,university and place.
  16. .why should we accept you?.
  17. .how have you prepared yourself for a career in dentistry.
  18. .what is your no 1 accomplishment?.
  19. .is this school your top choice..?.
  20. .where else have you applied?.
  21. .what are your short term and long term plans?.
  22. .you have any ideas about residency?.
  23. .what do you want to specialize in ?.
  24. .how do you plan to pay for dental school?.
  25. .tell me about time you have helped someone?.
  26. .what have you contributed to your community? .
  27. .tell me an example of a time you contributed to a group effort.
  28. .what volunteer work experience you have had?..
    .
  29. .what work experience you have had.
  30. .what clinical/hospital experience you have had?.
  31. .tell me about cross cultural experience you have had.
  32. .do u have any back up plans?.

2. For LLU along the lines of - tell me about your religion?
3. Why should we accept you?
4. Is there anything else about you that we should know?

Sine LLU is a missionary school , so they do ask why LLU? and what background u have to support it?
So in that case if u have convent schooling that helps.

great job:thumbup: though i think BU people are far simpler than that , dunno about NYU,but for UPENN i was asked about my weak points ?? so consider it too:)

alos add to the list:-
1)do u have any questions for me(almost always asked at the end)
2)why nyu/bu/llu/upenn.
3)what have u done in ur undergrad
4)why have u coem to US to do dentistry
5)what are u curremtly doing
6)any weak links like- why gpa low, why taken exam twice, why late application etc
7)why dentisrtry

I have my interview at BU on 12th march. I will add the questions am asked if any different from these.

In my interview I was asked several qs about my hobbies... AS HOBBIES N WHT U DO FR FUN IS TAKEN PRETTY SERIOUSLY IN US. So prepare well.

Wht do you want to know about the school?

wht do you want me to know about you?

Wht do you do fr fun?

need ur suggestion regarding this.....my stats 86/99/3.5.......applied in NYU,late jan...no call.....should i repeat part1 or toefl or both...or give part2......plz guide........really dissappointed......thanx

I suggest that you take part 2 first. If possible TOEFL, to go over 100

No I did not take any courses... bought compressor and practiced at home. I had a friend to steer me in the right direction though.

Tough/easy is so subjective right? The guys at UCSF were really friendly.
BUT on the day of the bench exam I was a little stressed, yes.

what kind of attire will u recommend for the interview especially for females.
