Interview Invites 2007

This is probably going to increase my anxiety level considerably, but can we keep a running list of who is handing out invites for OBGYN? I saw a couple already on the board and I'm curious to know if any on my list of programs are gettin' busy.

I think we're mature enough (and tired enough at this point) that this won't become an "in yo' face, alpha-dog, SDN p*ssing match" as I witnessed when I applied to medical school 5 years ago.

For those who got interview offers, are your applications all complete or are you still missing some letters?

I submitted on 9/1 (Saturday), and about half of my programs had downloaded my stuff by the next Tuesday (the Monday was labor day). This includes Louisville and Hopkins. Both programs had sent invites within 1 week of getting my file; my advice is to not worry, because there is still a loooong way to go with all of this PLUS many programs haven't even looked at my stuff yet.

I am still missing 2 LORs and the dean's letter; everything else is in.

my story is almost exactly like sharkfan's. no worries...also I like the idea of the master list. I can't remember where exactly I've seen this in the past, but it was cool watching all the people in our forum post their interviews.

I submitted on Sept 2nd - app is complete except for MSPE and Step 2 scores. A good mix of community and university programs - West, Southwest, South, Southeast, Midwest. All but 3 of the 20 programs have downloaded my full application. Hopefully I will be able to use BOLD type soon to add my contribution to the list!

Yes, I got a confirmation by e-mail, through the ERAS system.

To answer another question, both my invites have been through e-mail/ERAS.

For what it's worth, I was told my school's office of student affairs that because ERAS is electronic, expect electronic invites, i.e. email, with snail mail packets/confirmations coming at a later date.

Sounds good I am on aways right now, so I have everything being sent to home address, so I was hoping that everything was via email. I just applied on the 12th so I probably won't hear anything for a week or two, but the suspense is killing me!

Congrats folks. I know it doesn't mean much to say "don't stress". But enjoy this more laid back time in your career also! You'll all be so busy next year at this time!
I turned in my app after about the first week of september... stressed completely for a month, then started getting invites around the last week in sept, early october. And by the 2nd week in October, I was done. Most programs have multiple issue dates for interviews, so if something you want hasn't emailed you yet but others have heard, it doesn't mean you didn't get an interview.

This is a very hypothetical question but I was wondering if anyone has plans on limiting the number of interviews that they will actually attend? I highly doubt this will be an issue for me but say you applied to 30 programs and get 15 interviews, do you go to all of them? I just don't know what most people have done in the past and plan on doing if this situation arises. 15 different travel arrangements gets quite expensive and that is alot of days off as well.

No. . . just depends on what programs you've applied too and how much of your app is in. Every place is different, start worrying if you haven't heard anything by mid or late Oct.
