Interning at a Dentist Office?

So I decided that I want to be either a psychologist or a dentist when I'm older. I'm a junior in highschool now, and at my school they require you to find an internship for a month at any place you like. I'm interested in mental health but all of the clinics and facilities around here require a degree for just volunteering, so I couldn't do much as an intern. So I'm thinking about asking my Dentist if I can intern at his office. Do you think I'd be able to do anything fun? Besides getting coffee and making copies. Would I be able to watch him perform any major "surgeries"?
