Intern year scheduling

so... its almost upon us...... the dreaded intern year!
besides figuring out what precious electives I want to take, I also have to tell my program any scheduling requests that I have regarding vacation, etc

what do you guys ask for ?? i have no major events (marriages, graduations, etc) in my life over the next year that I know of ....
will they give me my electives during the nice warm months if i ask!! i hope so!! also i will try asking for busy ICU months in the winter.

I asked for my birthday week off and the last week of intern year since I'm just doing a prelim and would like a bit more time to get my act together before starting the rest of my residency - My program does not allow any vacation the week between Christmas and New Year's so that was out...
