How important is it to consider NCI's Comprehensive Cancer Center (or even just Cancer Center) designation while ranking fellowship programs? I know this is a designation that's given because of the quality and extent of basic science and translational research, rigor of clinical medicine, and community impact. However, I heard people mentioning somewhere in this forum that it does not really matter for fellowship applicants. If so, could someone explain the reason for it? Thank you.
