If you don't have much experience, would they ask you why?

I understand getting a residency without experience is extremely difficult these days, but as hard as I tried, it just wasn't in my hands and I used the time I wasn't able to find work to do other things like leadership, volunteering, involvement, etc. I'm working very hard during my rotations and considering extra hours of volunteering to get more experience, so I'm wondering if there is some opportunity to explain what I have done with my time, not to complain about the difficulty of finding a job but to demonstrate what I have done with my time.

Yes, if you get interviews, they are probably going to ask about your lack of work experience.

if they don't ask bring it up yourself and weave it into your other answers
